SOCAR AQS completes next horizontal well drilling on West Absheron Field

SOCAR AQS completes the works on construction of well #26, with target depth of 736m, successfully, ahead of schedule, without any incidents and without harming the environment.

It should be noted that the drilling works on well #26 commenced on 29th of April 2016. The well was drilled to penetrate the Girmaki Layer-3 (QD-3) to its maximum horizontal drilling inclination equaling to 39.9 degrees.
A 7-inch production casing was run in hole, and high-quality 4,5-inch screens were run in open hole in 736 m. Running in hole with these types of screens will increase well productivity, solve sand control issues, and provide an opportunity to stable production.

Our company attaches a great importance not only to drilling the wells in a short time period during its activites, but also to the provision of safety, protection of the environment and hight quality of services during all stages of operation.

Customer is SOCAR’s Azneft Production Unit.

SOCAR AQS LLC was established as an integrated drilling and well services management company between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic and Absheron Drilling Company in 2007. SOCAR AQS is conducting the work on obtaining, in the near future, of the certificate based on the requirements of API Spec Q2.
