SOCAR-AQS paid tribute to the victims of the 20 January tragedy

On 19 January 2017, SOCAR-AQS personnel visited the Alley of Martyrs and laid flowers to commemorate the memory of the martyrs, who gave their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.



Later that day the employees of the company joined an exhibition held at the Central Scientific Library of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, which was dedicated to the events of the 20th of January.



The visitors stood for a minute of silence for the blessed memory of the martyrs, following which they got acquainted with various artistic and scientific publications dedicated to the victims.



It should be noted such books as "Martyrs", "20 January Events, Documents, Positions and Commentary", "Karabakh Winds," "The Legend of Martyrs", "Motherland Calls" and others were displayed in the exhibition, which were written by the local writers in the recent years.



During the event, senior managers of the company shared their recollections about that tragic day, when the Soviet troops were sent to Baku on suppress the peaceful demonstration. They also shared their thoughts about the role of those events in the history of Azerbaijan to emphasize that the 20th of January event was a demonstration to the world of the struggle of the Azerbaijani people for their freedom.



In the end, the company personnel visited other exhibitions on patriotism and got acquainted with the conditions created for the readers and visitors in the Central Scientific Library.
