An event dedicated to 25th anniversary of restoration of the state independence of the Azerbaijan Republic takes place at SOCAR-AQS

An event dedicated to 25th anniversary of restoration of the state independence of the Azerbaijan Republic takes place in the head office of SOCAR-AQS on 18th October 2016. In the beginning, the participants watched a video dedicated to the Day of State Independence.

 

Then Ali Ismayilov, Advisor to General Director, took the floor and congratulated everyone with the Day of Independence. "To live independently, to build your sovereign state is every nation’s wish. The Azerbaijan People’s Republic was built in 1918 and lived for only 23 months. The next opportunity came only after 70 years, but this time we were able to preserve our independency. Heydar Aliyev, a person who possessed a huge political experience, was an author of a number of strategies back in the 70-ies, when he was in charge of the Republic, which he carried out step by step. Owing to this far-sighted policy, our people were able to restore the power in all spheres".

 

Advisor of SOCAR-AQS for Drilling Processes, Mammadaga Aliyev, said that he, like every Azerbaijani oilman, who worked in the oil & gas sector in Vietnam Socialist Republic in 1991, was closely watching what was going on in the Republic, and was looking forward to the end of fight of people for the independence. "Azerbaijan was the epicenter of the fight for independence in the former USSR. Unceasing demonstrations and calls for fight for independence became a source of inspiration for other republics".

 

Then the word was given to Dilman Kosayev, Rig Manager, who said that at that time, he was a student of the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry under the name of M. Azizbekov. "We would come out to the squares, thus, expressing our solidarity with those fighting for independency. I am happy to see the results of our fight. We have gained freedom, but to preserve that freedom turned out to be even more difficult. Return of Haydar Aliyev to power in 1993 and his wise policy helped the country to avoid breakout of a civil. Socio-political stability was restored, and foundation was laid for successful reforms in all spheres. This wise policy is now successfully carried out by President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev".

 

The rest of the participants spoke about importance and today’s stable development of the country. They noted that nowadays, Azerbaijan is a leading country in the region and a reliable partner in the system of international relations.
